Commissions

Previously, my website was primarily a portfolio of my costuming work, and a method for people to find and contact me about having costume commissioned.

At this point, I really don't do much commission work, especially outside of the SCA.  It is difficult to balance an hourly rate which I feel is fair with the expectations of customers as to cost.  An hourly rate of $15-20 is similar to that charged by individuals who cut lawns and clean houses in my neighborhoods, though the skill required to design and create a custom costume is much higher.  However, a costume that takes only four hours (which would be a very simple one) would still then cost in the range of $100 once reasonably priced fabric is included, which is more than most people are looking to pay for a costume that will be worn for a few hours on Halloween.
